Due to fierce competition in the early years of the 20th century the Brewery spent considerable sums of money on the promotion of domestic beer. For this purpose, it had special postcards with Brewery interiors printed by R. Mosinger Photographic Print Institute (Svjetlotiskarski zavod R. Mosingera).
The Alexander family became the principal owner early in the 20th century, continuing successful business operation until World War II when the company was taken over by Privileged Croatian Industry Ltd. In May 1945 the Brewery was taken over by the State Office for National Resources (Zemaljska uprava narodnih dobara). Today, Zagreb Brewery is the largest Croatian brewery which annually produces around 950,000 hectolitres of beer.
