Fotokemika, Zagreb, Hondlova Street 2
Fotokemika, a company specializing in the production of photographic equipment, was established in 1947 in Zagreb.
It was formed through the merger of the Zagreb branch of the German company Ozacel and the Zagreb-based company Foto, founded in 1945 for the production of photographic paper and films. The company was located in newly constructed facilities on Hondlova Street in the Maksimir district. Its activities included the production of photographic paper and the chemicals for its processing, as well as the manufacturing of other equipment. In 1952, it merged with the newly built Film Factory in Samobor, expanding its product line. From the 1960s to the 1980s, Fotokemika became the leading supplier of photographic equipment in the region and also gained an exceptional reputation worldwide.
The company was liquidated in 2012.
