Radenska d. d. (plc), Radenci, Slovenia
The Radenska mineral water spring was discovered in 1833 and the first bottles were filled in 1869. At the end of the 19th century, spa tourism began to flourish in Radenci. The construction of a nearby railway facilitated transportation to Radenci, leading to rapid growth in mineral water production and sales. The Radenska mineral water received numerous quality awards and medals at international fairs in European capitals and was granted the title of imperial and papal court supplier of mineral water.
In 1923, Radenska was officially recognized as medicinal water, and in 1936, the water’s famous three-heart logo was designed.
The first mechanized mineral water bottling plant was opened in 1961. In the former Yugoslavia, Radenska was synonymous with mineral water. Its market expanded to all continents in the 1970s and 1980s.
