The factory continued the tradition in liqueur production started by Pokorny, Patria and Arko. Marijan Badel took the foundation year of Pokorny (1862) but assumed its present name in 1950 in keeping with an administrative decision. In the late 1970s the factory merged with Vinoprodukt, expanding its assortment to include wines.
In 1980, at Monde Selection, a world food fair held in London, Badel Cherry Brandy was the winner of the gold medal.
