Karolina and Kandit Factory Packaging

Karolina mills, pasta and biscuit factory was founded by Stjepan Piller and sons in Osijek in 1909 as a shareholding with a capital of 200 000 crowns. As the business grew, two separate plants were set up: the mill and the pasta production plant.

In 1922 the original factory was extended to incorporate a sweets and biscuits plant, one of the most modern outlets in the country.

Sugar and Confectionery Factory, Osijek

The factory was founded in 1953 continuing the confectionery industry that began in Osijek in the early 20th century. One of its most popular products was the Plavi 9 (Blue 9) candy packaged in well-designed tins.Today the factory markets its production programme throughout the world.
